The Governor of the State of Mexico held a meeting with a group of businessmen encouraged by the Mexican Chamber of Commerce
During his trip around China, the Governor of the State of Mexico, Mr. Enrique Pena Nieto stressed the need for our country to strong trade links with the Asian nation.
'We need to locate Mexico in the center of its operations, in the center of their alternatives and I certainly believe we are not far from achieving it,' the Governor expressed during a meeting he held with a group of businessmen invited by the Mexican Chamber of Commerce in China (MEXCHAM).
In this meeting, Governor Pena Nieto witnessed the signing of a Collaboration Agreement between the State of Mexico and MEXCHAM, represented in this act by its Chairman, Mr. Rafael Valdez Mingramm.
In this matter, the Governor said 'we believe there is a great path to be exploited, so much to develop in our relationship and we must break the barriers that limit us with China.'
Additionally, Mr. Valdez Mingramm noted that the agreement 'is a vivid example of this commitment and mutual interest of positioning Mexico and China and develop links and long-term strategic alliances, not only in the economic sector but also culturally.'
MEXCHAM´s Chairman stressed that although China is the second largest trading partner of Mexico, the volume of exports as foreign direct investment between both countries is still low.
During this event, Governor Pena Nieto also set the donation of a book collection from the Mexican Bicentennial Library to MEXCHAM. This donation consisted of 335 different title books, with a target of 400 books donated with a vast series aimed for children, educational, social sciences research and cultural development, as well as those titles related to regions and towns of the State of Mexico.
