OMA Plans USD 8.75 B Investment by 2030

  • 12th December 2025

Grupo Aeroportuario del Centro Norte (OMA) plans to invest about MX$16 billion (US$877.5 million) between 2026 and 2030 across the 13 airports it operates in Mexico. The investment aims to accelerate modernization to match projected passenger flows tied to business activity and nearshoring trends. Monterrey International Airport, OMA’s main hub and largest asset, will receive roughly half of the spending (MX$8 billion), focusing on expanding terminals, upgrading runways and taxiways, developing aircraft platforms, and enhancing digitalization efforts.

Triffic allocations for other airports are detailed, but overall investments anticipate passenger traffic growth of 8-9% in 2025, driven by sustained demand from business travelers linked to manufacturing relocations. Air travel penetration in Mexico remains low, with a positive outlook due to proximity to the United States. The plan reflects OMA’s confidence in a continued expansion cycle, with increasing business traffic, tourism, and economic activity.
