In July 2025, the sale of hybrid, plug-in hybrid and electric vehicles in Mexico reached 10,612 units, representing 8.5% of total light vehicle sales. Although slightly lower than July 2024, the market maintains a positive annual cumulative trend.
Hybrids dominated with 79.8% share (8,466 units) in July, while EVs accounted for 13.6% (1,442) and plug-in hybrids 6.6% (704). Jan-July cumulative sales reached 76,562 units, up 17.4% YoY with market share rising to 9.2%.
Plug-in hybrids surged 9.5% YoY (July) and 43.3% (Jan-Jul), while hybrids grew 11.5% (July) and 30% (Jan-Jul). Top regions: Mexico City (20,067), State of Mexico (10,540), Nuevo León (7,568).
2025 cumulative performance confirms clean technology’s growing footprint in Mexico, with rising consumer interest concentrated in regions with high demand for efficient transportation.
