DiDi has launched DiDi Premier, a new 100% electric ride-hailing category in Mexico City. The service starts with a fleet of 500 electric vehicles, part of a MX$1 billion (US$55 million) investment announced in late 2024 to integrate 100,000 EVs nationwide.
The launch reinforces Mexico’s position as a core market in DiDi’s regional strategy, combining innovation, sustainability, and premium service. The company said DiDi Premier aims to “create a complete travel experience” focused on enhanced safety, comfort, and personalization.
The service is built on four pillars: safety, style, efficiency, and comfort. Each trip features a high-end electric vehicle equipped with safety cameras and premium amenities such as tablets, bottled water, and chargers. Users can customize their ride by selecting temperature and driver interaction preferences.
All Premier drivers must have completed at least 100 trips, maintain top user ratings, and pass advanced training in professional driving and hospitality.
Carlos Torres, DiDi’s spokesperson for Mexico, said the initiative highlights the company’s long-term commitment to sustainable transport. “DiDi Premier represents a new chapter for mobility in Mexico—one that combines environmental responsibility with high-quality service,” he said.
