Ankai continues its expansion into Mexico

  • 12th February 2026

Ankai Bus has now secured another export order in Mexico for 215 natural gas buses. These vehicles combine lower gas consumption, stronger power, and longer range, and will contribute to Monterrey’s accelerated urban transportation transformation, bringing a cleaner, more convenient, and better travel experience to local residents.

A drone photo taken on February 7, 2026, shows natural gas buses being loaded onto a ship bound for Mexico at Yantai Port in Yantai City, Shandong Province. One hundred natural gas-powered buses developed and manufactured by Anhui Ankai Automobile Co., Ltd. for the Mexican market will be deployed in Monterrey’s public transportation system.

The 12-meter natural gas buses exported in this batch are customized products developed by Ankai Bus based on the precise needs of the Mexican market. Powered by natural gas, these buses significantly reduce emissions of pollutants such as carbon monoxide and nitrogen oxides compared to traditional fuel-powered buses. While adhering to eco-friendly principles, they also optimize operating costs, perfectly meeting Monterrey’s demand for green public transportation.
