CAAAREM reinforces foreign trade security

  • 24th October 2025

The Confederation of Associations of Customs Agents of the Mexican Republic (CAAAREM) held a meeting with former presidents in the framework of the approval of the new Customs Law by the Congress of the Union, led by current president José Ignacio Zaragoza, who reaffirmed the guild’s commitment to national security, transparency, and best practices in foreign trade. Zaragoza stressed that the work of customs agents is strategically important for Mexico, going beyond customs management to protect the national economy, ensure the legality of foreign trade, and strengthen confidence in the country’s international operations. “By safeguarding legal trade, we protect Mexico. Every validation, review, and operation is an act of responsibility toward the country. Customs agents are part of the solution.”

The meeting presented Verifica CFDI 2.0, a technological platform that marks a step toward modernizing foreign trade and strengthening fiscal control mechanisms. This tool ensures that all digital fiscal receipts (CFDI) used in export operations are properly registered and validated with the SAT, avoiding irregularities that could affect revenue collection and tax compliance. Additionally, information retention for five years guarantees traceability and preservation of compliance evidence in each operation. This measure advances Mexico in transparency and accountability, aligned with international best practices.

Zaragoza emphasized that with this technological evolution, CAAAREM consolidates its role as a strategic ally of the Mexican state, promoting secure, efficient, and innovation-based foreign trade to benefit national competitiveness. This initiative responds to the new Customs Law, supporting legal trade and strengthening the national security framework.
