China auto exports: Mexico leads Jan-Jul ’25

  • 10th September 2025

Latest statistics show that Mexico became the top destination for China’s automobile exports from January to July 2025.

According to  reports, the total number of automobiles exported by China to Mexico during this period reached 272,100 units, a year-on-year increase of 25.5%. Although it ranked third in July, it still topped all of China’s auto export markets overall.

The top ten destinations for China’s auto exports from January to July 2025 are Mexico, the United Arab Emirates, Russia, Belgium, Brazil, the United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia, Australia, the Philippines and Kazakhstan.

In recent years, Chinese automobile brands have won the favor of Mexican consumers by virtue of their outstanding product competitiveness, intelligent configurations, and appealing designs—especially their advantages in the new energy sector. The Mexican market has a strong demand for Chinese-manufactured electric and fuel-powered vehicles: 3 out of every 10 imported vehicles come from China. China has replaced traditional automobile powers to become Mexico’s largest source of imported automobiles.

This export data objectively reflects the deepening of trade exchanges and complementarity between China and Mexico. The strong growth of China’s automobile exports has not only provided Mexican consumers with more diverse and high-quality product options but also further consolidated Mexico’s position as an important trading partner of China.

China and Mexico are both important developing economies and emerging market countries, with strong economic complementarity and broad prospects for cooperation. For a long time, the two countries have maintained close economic and trade cooperation in multiple fields, and the outstanding performance of China’s automobile exports this time is a vivid epitome of their friendly trade exchanges. We look forward to the two countries continuing to deepen cooperation in various fields in the future, jointly promoting bilateral economic and trade relations to a higher level, and achieving mutual benefit and win-win results.
