Chinese smart manufacturing shines at the 2026 FIFA World Cup

  • 17th June 2026

The opening match of the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico was held at the Azteca Stadium in Mexico City in Beijing time on the early morning of June 12, 2026.

To handle the massive influx of spectators, Mexico has assembled a dedicated fleet of 800 new-energy buses, with over 95% coming from Chinese brands. Yutong alone accounts for 85% of the fleet. Across the three major host cities—Mexico City, Guadalajara, and Monterrey—Chinese buses provide green transportation support for the event area.

In April of this year, Hisense was officially named the Official Display Technology Partner for the 2026 FIFA World Cup VAR (Video Assistant Referee) system. Hisense RGB MiniLED TVs will be deployed in the World Cup VAR center, leveraging their ultra-wide color gamut and exceptional color accuracy to faithfully reproduce every detail of the live action, thereby assisting video assistant referees in making precise decisions.

Notably, the entry of Chinese manufacturing innovations into Mexico not only demonstrates China’s growing technological capabilities, but also reflects the continuous deepening of cooperation and exchanges between China and Mexico in the fields of economy and technology..
