On November 7, 2025, the Hunan-LAC Economic and Trade Cooperation Meeting was held in Shanghai. The meeting was organized by the CPPCC Hunan Committee and CCPIT Hunan Sub-council, with participation from Mr. Zhang Jian, Vice Chairman of the CPPCC Hunan Committee and Chairman of the Hunan Provincial Federation of Industry and Commerce, among others.

Representatives from various Latin American and Caribbean countries participated, including Mexico, Brazil, Colombia, the Dominican Republic, Honduras, and Venezuela.
The Mexican Chamber of Commerce in China (MEXCHAM) was represented by its Honorary Advisor Yonanetl Zavala, who presented on the business opportunities between Hunan and Mexico.
