JAC celebrates 100,000th vehicle in Hidalgo

Giant Motors Latinoamérica announced that its Ciudad Sahagún, Hidalgo, plant has assembled the 100,000th JAC Motors vehicle, solidifying the facility as a cornerstone of the automotive industry in central Mexico. Spanning over 150,000 square meters with eight production lines, the plant has an annual capacity exceeding 60,000 vehicles, meeting domestic and export demand.

Operating for 18 years, the company has strengthened the production chain in Hidalgo and surrounding areas through specialized employment and a national supplier network. Giant Motors-JAC Motors emphasized its national vision: “We will continue to drive our commitment to national development and the future of mobility in Mexico.” Its strategy focuses on local assembly, technology transfer, and skill training, enhancing market competitiveness.

The Ciudad Sahagún plant’s eight production lines offer model flexibility and batch scalability, optimizing delivery times and unit costs, strengthening supply chain resilience. Supporting passenger and work vehicle production, the plant diversifies options for customers while fostering investment and job growth in the regional industrial network.

JAC Motors’ milestone brings positive impacts to Mexico’s economy. Amortized capital and standardized processes boost productivity and reduce unit costs. Increased output and capacity utilization are expected to drive economies of scale and higher national content. The plant’s success signals confidence in the central Mexico automotive supplier ecosystem, foreshadowing further investment and growth.
