Lizhong Group is producing 500K-wheels in Mx

  • 18th September 2025

The construction of the 500,000-unit forged aluminum alloy wheel production capacity at Lizhong Group’s Mexico Plant is progressing actively. This production capacity is a key part of its Mexico-based project with an annual output of 3.6 million ultra-lightweight aluminum alloy wheels. Currently, the first-phase capacity of 1.8 million units was completed and put into operation in 2024, and is already running near full capacity; the second-phase capacity of 1.8 million units is expected to be put into operation in the third quarter of 2025.

Since 2025, the Lizhong Group Mexico Plant has successively received orders from international customers. The cumulative designated amount of projects within the year has reached RMB 1830 million, among which the total sales volume of two orders during their contract periods is approximately RMB 1643 million. Benefiting from the USMCA (United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement), its products enjoy “zero tariffs” when exported to the United States, which enhances its competitiveness in the North American market. Its customers include automotive companies such as BMW and General Motors.

This capacity expansion is a microcosm of China-Mexico trade cooperation. As an important base for the automotive industry, Mexico has witnessed Lizhong Group’s investment of RMB 1156 million and its capacity layout. This not only improves the global supply chain, but also deepens China-Mexico manufacturing cooperation and injects vitality into bilateral trade.
