Proximo Spirits is a multinational alcoholic beverage company, which was founded in 2007 by the Beckmann family, descendants of Jose María Guadalupe de Cuervo. It owns over a dozen spirits brands, including Jose Cuervo, 1800 Tequila, Maestro Dobel Tequila, 400 Conejos Mezcal, Bushmills Irish Whiskey, Sexton Single Malt Irish Whiskey and Kraken Black Spiced Rum, etc.
Dr. Efrén Calvo serves as Executive President of the Mexican Chamber of Commerce in China (MEXCHAM)and President of Beijing Openmind Services, Ltd.
He has over 30 years’ experience working in international trade, government and strategic consulting in Asia, Europe and the Americas. Frequent speaker on China-Latin America at business forums and international media. Mr. Calvo expertise includes industries such as mining, automotive, seafood and meat, as well as investments and real estate.
Mr. Cadena serves as Executive Vice President of the Mexican Chamber of Commerce in China (MEXCHAM).He has over 12 years’ experience working in providing legal and business consulting in Mexico and China focusing on m&a, cross border transactions and business development between China and Latin America. He has advised dozens of Latin companies entering and doing business in China as well as Chinese companies doing business in Latin America, including SOE, SMEs and local governments.
Mr. Cadena holds a Law Degree by the National University Autonomous of Mexico, Master of Law in Political Science/International Relations by Tsinghua University, Masters in Business Administration (MBA) by Guanghua School of Management of Peking University, also holds Diplomas in Finance regulations by the Mexican Stock Exchange and Hedge Funds by RenMin University.
