MEXCHAM joins 25th China Lanzhou Investment and Trade Fair

From July 3rd to July 9th a Latin American delegation of entrepreneurs and business owners traveled from different parts of China to Lanzhou City in the north of China to hold meetings with Provincial Government Leaders. On the morning of July 5th, the city organized meetings on the frame of the 25th China Lanzhou Investment and Trade Fair Spain-China (Gansu) Economic and Trade Exchange Fair.

Members of the Mexican Chamber of Commerce in China together with its Executive President Efren Calvo, Hangzhou Chapter President Cesar Bustos and General Secretary Pablo Aguayo, as well as Spanish Chamber of Commerce in Gansu Director Mr Jorge Sun Yi and Fidel Torre, Director of the Spanish Import and Export Bureau took part in the meetings with Provincial Government. During themeeting Mr.Calvo presented key specific projects that aim to develop the region.

Vice Governor Chang Zhengguo attended the meeting and delivered a speech. Hao Yuan, vice chairman of the Provincial CPPCC, chairman of the Provincial Federation of Industry and Commerce, and president of the Provincial Chamber of Commerce, attended the fair. Guo Chunwang, deputy secretary general of the provincial government, presided over the meeting. Zhou Wei, deputy secretary of the municipal party committee introduced the economic and social development and investment environment of Wuwei City, he said that with the deepening of the construction of the “Beltand Road” and the in-depth implementation of the strategy of developing the western region, Wuwei’s development is facing a rare historical opportunity. It has excellent geographical transportation conditions, unique agricultural resources and unique cultural and tourism resources. The five advantages of opening up to the world are obvious and the business environment is good.

During the visit in Lanzhou, entrepreneurs had the opportunity to offer their services and products such as rum from Colombia, chocolate, tuna fish, wine, among others. The delegation had companies from Mexico, Colombia, Spain, Costa Rica, Ecuador looking to contribute in the development of the region and enhance the business trade, import and exports between Latin America and Gansu Province.
