Mexico in the 2024 export Ranking
Mexico reached the ninth position in the global export ranking during 2024, with a total value of 617 billion dollars, equivalent to 2.5% of world trade, according to recent Commodity Trading data on global goods flow. International trade recorded a total volume of 24.43 trillion dollars in the year, in a context marked by the reconfiguration of supply chains and the growing influence of nearshoring in strategic regions.
China topped the list with 3.57 trillion dollars in exports and a 14.6% share, followed by the United States with 2.06 trillion dollars (8.5%) and Germany with 1.68 trillion (6.9%). Other notable countries were the Netherlands (921 billion), Japan (707 billion), South Korea (684 billion), and Italy (674 billion).
Regional Dynamics and North American Partners
In the Americas, Mexico surpassed Canada (568 billion dollars), solidifying its role as one of North America’s key trading partners, driven by the relocation of operations and growing demand in sectors such as automotive, electronics, and advanced manufacturing.
The United Arab Emirates completed the top 10 with 603 billion dollars, while other relevant economies included Belgium, the United Kingdom, Singapore.
