Mexico’s export revenue rises 27.7% in March

In the first three months of 2026, Mexico’s total export revenue reached a record USD175.586 billion, a 17.9% increase compared to the same period in 2025

Official data shows that Mexico’s export revenue increased by 27.7% year-on-year in March, with exports from non-automotive manufacturing sectors rising by 43.7%.

Data released Monday by INEGI shows that Mexico’s exports reached USD 70.727 billion in March, easily setting a new monthly record since 2026. Mexico’s export revenue has achieved year-on-year growth for 10 consecutive months, with six of those months seeing double-digit increases.

INEGI also reported that Mexico’s total export revenue reached a record USD 175.586 billion in the first three months of this year, a 17.9% increase compared to the same period in 2025. This is the largest annual increase in export revenue in any quarter since 2011.

Mexico’s import spending rose 24% in March
As Mexico’s export revenue increased, its spending on imported goods also rose. In March, imports of foreign goods reached USD 64.79 billion, a 24.3% increase compared to the same period last year.
Mexico’s spending on intermediate goods imports reached USD 51.4 billion in March, a 27.2% year-on-year increase. Intermediate goods include raw materials and semi-finished products.
Consumer goods imports to Mexico totaled USD 8.42 billion in March, a 19.3% year-on-year increase.
Capital goods spending in Mexico rose 7% year-on-year in March, reaching USD 4.97 billion.
