Port Lázaro Cárdenas welcomes JISU FORTUNE

  • 5th December 2025

In late November 2025, Puerto Lázaro Cárdenas received the inaugural arrival of the cargo vessel JISU FORTUNE, operated by Geely Jisu Logistics, departing from Ningbo Port in China and carrying 5,041 vehicles from Geely and Zeekr brands. Powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG), the ship unloaded at SSA México’s TEA terminal, marking a logistical and environmental milestone for Mexico. This event highlights growing China-Mexico automotive trade, supporting Mexico’s position as a North American electric vehicle supply chain hub.

The arrival of JISU FORTUNE strengthens Puerto Lázaro Cárdenas’s role as a major Pacific port handling significant Mexican automotive imports. The vessel carried electric models from Geely and Zeekr, responding to Mexico’s growing EV market. Geely Group stated that this route will optimize logistics efficiency, promote sustainable transportation, and inject new vitality into China-Mexico economic cooperation.

This event reflects deepening China-Mexico trade relations, with Geely and Zeekr expanding into North America via Mexico. The port’s modern infrastructure ensures efficient unloading, supporting automotive supply chains. In the future, such routes are expected to increase, fostering bilateral investments and green technology transfers.
