Quanta Computer accelerates expansion in Mexico

  • 11th October 2025

Quanta Computer, a notebook computer manufacturer headquartered in Taiwan, China, is accelerating its global production capacity expansion with new production lines in Monterrey, Mexico. According to the latest plan, Quanta’s new production lines in Mexico are expected to begin pilot production by the end of 2025 and enter mass production in the first quarter of 2026.

Quanta Computer has chosen Monterrey, the capital of Nuevo León, Mexico, for this expansion. Samuel García, Governor of Nuevo León, previously revealed that Quanta will make a large-scale investment here and create thousands of jobs. This scale of investment underscores Quanta’s strong focus on the North American market. Monterrey, a major industrial hub in Mexico, is strategically located near Texas, USA, with land transportation to Houston taking only 2–3 days. Quanta’s board approved the relevant proposal in August 2025, deciding to expand the Mexican facility in accordance with customer requirements.

Timeline

The construction of Quanta’s production capacity in Mexico has now entered the implementation phase.

Yang Chi-ling, Executive Vice President of Quanta and General Manager of Qunta QCT, noted that while the initial investment in Mexico was seen as a diversification measure, it has now become a necessary step, primarily to address cost and tariff concerns.
