Foresight inaugurates Mexico plant

Chinese automotive interior leader Wuhu Foresight Technology Co., Ltd. (Foresight) has taken another key step in its global layout in Mexico! Recently, the company held the inauguration ceremony of a new production base in Jesús María, Aguascalientes. This is its third factory in the Mexican market, marking the further consolidation of its layout in the North American automotive supply chain.

With an investment of 50 million US dollars (about 899 million Mexican pesos) and a building area of 29,000 square meters, the new plant will create 300 new formal jobs after commissioning. Together with the 1,250 employees Foresight already has in Aguascalientes, the company’s local employment scale will exceed 1,500, becoming a key driver of regional employment.

The choice of Aguascalientes for this layout is precisely due to the region’s unique advantages as a core hub of Mexico’s automotive industry. Data shows that the automotive industry accounts for 36.7% of the state’s GDP and contributes 85% of its total exports. In 2025, it attracted more than 15 billion Mexican pesos in investment, with a significant proportion in the automotive sector. The state has skilled workers, a sound industrial supply chain and a stable business environment, making it one of the preferred destinations for foreign investment in the automotive industry.

Foresight’s expansion trajectory in Mexico clearly demonstrates the dedication of Chinese enterprises: it first settled in the Aguascalientes Valley Industrial Park (PIVA) in 2018, expanded to a second factory in Chichimeco in 2020, and launched the third factory in 2024. Completing “three consecutive constructions” in just six years, it has become a typical example of a repeat investor locally. Chairman Lu Wenbo said that this continuous expansion stems from recognition of Mexico’s market potential and benefits from local government support and a high-quality industrial ecosystem.

Aguascalientes state government officials emphasized at the inauguration ceremony that the landing of foreign investment projects such as Foresight not only strengthens the local industrial foundation, but also drives the development of supporting industries such as local suppliers, logistics and professional services, generating significant economic multiplier effects. As Tesla and other automakers increase their layout in Mexico, Chinese auto parts enterprises represented by Foresight are seizing market opportunities with their technological advantages.
