
Mexico’s tourism sector celebrates another milestone! Tourism Minister Josefina Rodríguez announced that the country welcomed 8.3 million international visitors in October, a year-on-year increase of 10.7%, hitting a historic high for the same period. This tourism boom generated US$2.44 billion in economic revenue for Mexico, up 9.3% from 2024 and a staggering 50.3% surge compared to pre-pandemic levels.
Looking ahead to the full year, the Mexican government projects that 2025 will see a total of 79.3 million international visitors (a 13.6% year-on-year increase) and 38.4 million international tourists (a 5.8% year-on-year increase), with the annual economic impact expected to reach US$28.2 billion, a 6.5% annual growth.
In the field of bilateral cooperation, President Claudia Sheinbaum revealed that Mexico is negotiating with the United States to increase flights to Mexico City International Airport (AIFA), aiming to position the metropolitan airport system as a key commercial hub.
