BYD’s luxury brand Denza opens first dealership in Mexico

  • 22nd January 2026

BYD’s luxury brand Denza has officially entered the Mexican market, opening its first dealership in Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico. The initial lineup includes three models: two hybrid SUVs and one hybrid sedan, one of which is already on sale. Jorge Vallejo, CEO of BYD Mexico, stated that Denza “will maintain its independence, its essence, and its unique DNA,” emphasizing that Denza will operate independently from BYD’s sales-driven core business.Denza will initially launch in Mexico with only one dealership, with plans to add more dealerships in Mexico City and Guadalajara. Roland Garazzo, the brand’s official dealer in Mexico, expressed confidence in Denza’s prospects based on his previous experience at BYD. “I have a very good understanding of the product, the technology, and the team behind it,” he said. Garazzo added that despite the limited number of physical Denza dealerships, approximately 50 vehicles were sold in the first month of operation and have already been delivered to markets such as Los Cabos and Cancun.

Denza’s launch strategy in Mexico reflects BYD’s efforts to clearly differentiate its high-end and mass-market segments. The brand focuses on hybrid and plug-in hybrid technologies, targeting the high-end market, while its robust dealer expansion aligns with its niche, premium positioning. Vallejo stated that future new store openings “will be strategically located in markets we must enter.”
