The 54th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations between China and Mexico
Today is 14 February 2026, we celebrate the 54th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Mexico!

Since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries in 1972, China-Mexico economic and trade relations have been an important pillar of the relationship between the two countries. China is Mexico’s second largest trading partner, while Mexico is China’s second largest trading partner in Latin America.
According to the Mexican Ministry of Economy, the trade volume between China and Mexico reached around USD 140 billion in 2025, showing strong growth momentum.

This year the Mexican Chamber of Commerce in China (MEXCHAM) will celebrate its 19th Anniversary!
Since its establishment, MEXCHAM has been committed to promoting economic and trade cooperation and exchanges between China and Mexico. Through organising various activities, MEXCHAM promotes cooperation between enterprises of both sides and makes significant contributions to the continuous development of China-Mexico economic and trade relations.
Over the past 19 years, MEXCHAM has witnessed the deepening of economic and trade co-operation between the two countries, and has also helped many companies to successfully establish themselves in Mexico.
The future of China-Mexico relations is full of hope. With the joint efforts of the governments and enterprises of both countries, China-Mexico economic and trade cooperation will continue to grow. We believe that China and Mexico will continue to work together to create more benefits for the people of the two countries and inject new momentum into global economic growth.
The MEXCHAM will continue to promote trade and investment between the two countries on the premise of a win-win situation and long-term co-operation.
Finally, let us once again congratulate China and Mexico on the 54th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations! Long live the friendship between China and Mexico!
