ABB bets on San Luis Potosí to expand and grow

The multinational ABB, specialized in electrification, robotics and automation, inaugurated the expansion of its plant located in the WTC Logistics Park of San Luis Potosí, with an investment of 12.1 million dollars. This project contemplates the creation of 223 new jobs, which reinforces the industrial and technological profile of the entity.

During the ceremony, the head of the Ministry of Economic Development (Sedeco), Jesús Salvador González Martínez, stressed that the expansion of companies such as ABB, with Swiss-Swedish capital, is a sign of the economic dynamism of San Luis Potosí and its growing attractiveness for foreign investment.

Boosting energy efficiency

The expansion increases the operational capacity of the productive campus by 50 percent, by adding an additional 10 thousand square meters. The new facilities integrate a sustainability approach, where 70 percent of the energy consumed comes from its solar park, recognized nationally for its efficiency. ABB reaffirms its commitment to the energy transition by adopting clean technologies and responsible operating models, strengthening its position as a global benchmark in industrial solutions.

Currently, ABB generates more than 1,600 jobs in San Luis Potosí,Mexico,and with this expansion, it reaffirms its commitment to local talent, its strategic location and the favorable environment for sustained growth. The company continues to expand its technological capabilities in a key state for the national manufacturing industry. With this investment, ABB contributes to the country’s industrial development, strengthening value chains and fostering innovation from a sustainable perspective.
