Giant Motors Doubles Assembly Capacity in Mexico

The automotive company Giant Motors Latinoamérica (GML) will invest US$158 million to expand the capacity of its plant in Ciudad Sahagún, Hidalgo, announced its CEO and president, Elías Massri.

The expansion includes increasing the number of assembly lines from four to eight, which will enable the assembly of 60,000 units per year with only one shift, double the current volume.

Company executives estimate that this new phase of growth will generate 1,000 direct jobs.

The additional capacity will be used for both commercial vehicles and electric passenger units, with a view to assembling 7,000 zero-emission units per year.
