Last April 21st, Kingfa, a global leader in modified plastics, held a groundbreaking ceremony for its new plant in San Luis Potosí, Mexico.
The Mexico project, with a total investment of US$84 million, marks a key step in Kingfa’s global expansion strategy. As a leader in advanced chemical materials, Kingfa has established R&D and production bases across three continents since 2013. The new 150,000-square-meter facility will have an annual capacity of 300,000 tons of high-performance modified plastics (including 200,000 tons of general-purpose plastics and 100,000 tons of engineering plastics), primarily serving high-growth sectors like automotive and home appliances. Slated for operation by June 2026, the plant is expected to generate 500 local jobs.
He Jun, General Manager of Kingfa USA and Mexico, stated that the facility will adopt smart manufacturing and green low-carbon technologies. Kingfa is also collaborating with local vocational schools to launch “Kingfa Technical Classes,” training professionals in polymer materials. Alfonso Rodríguez Baldazo, Director of Municipal Economic Development of San Luis Potosí, expressed gratitude for Kingfa’s trust in Villa Reyes, affirming the project’s long-term commitment to the region’s economic and industrial development.
Alfonso Rodríguez Baldazo emphasized that this investment positions Villa de Reyes as a strategic hub for innovation and manufacturing in the Americas. He noted that the complex will become one of Kingfa’s most significant global innovation centers and among the most impactful of its kind in North America.
