Lennox inaugurated its fourth plant in Mexico, located in the municipality of Ramos Arizpe, in the state of Coahuila.
The construction of the industrial plant required an investment of USD 150 million. During the opening ceremony, it was pointed out that the plant currently employs 900 workers and plans to expand its workforce to more than 2,400 in the future.
“With the opening of this new stage, 900 jobs are being generated in addition to the 30 thousand new jobs with which we will close in 2024. We will continue working as a team with the private investment to continue generating the conditions for more and better jobs for our people,” said the Governor of Coahuila, Manolo Jimenez.
Alok Maskara, CEO of Lennox, highlighted that the new plant will be dedicated to the manufacture of air conditioning systems and will have 800 thousand square feet. Lennox first began operations in Coahuila in 2007, so the time that the company has maintained functions in the state was highlighted by Maskara.
“This will be a new factory of air conditioning systems, Lennox first opened its plant in 2007, we already had three, now it is a pleasure to have four plants, we continue betting on this project here in Coahuila. In the last 17 years this plant has become a key site for the company, through our foundation we have strengthened our presence in the community as it is important to us,” said Maskara. According to the company’s CEO, the new plant represents the largest investment Lennox has made worldwide in manufacturing.
Luis Olivares Martínez, Coahuila’s Secretary of Economy, mentioned that Lennox’s new commercial plant is a new link that strengthens the chain of success and progress in the state, and represents a commitment to innovation.
