Huawei invested 1.3B pesos in Mexico

Huawei, a provider of infrastructure for telecommunications networks and solutions for digital transformation, reported that it has invested just over 1.3 billion pesos, about $64.07 million dollars, to the development of data centers in Mexico between 2019 and 2024, through the Huawei Cloud division. The company’s main intention is to have infrastructure that supports the telecommunications and information technology industries through cloud solutions, and also aims to develop applications with local talent.

Liu Jiude, General Manager of Huawei in Mexico, said at the Huawei Cloud Summit forum that 2024 “is the year of digital transformation for Mexico”The Huawei Cloud supports countless companies and can drive digitalization in key sectors such as education and finance. With our artificial intelligence (AI) solutions, big data and innovative tools, we help our partners reach their full potential.

“We have been in Mexico for twenty years, which allows us to offer a better service with a highly trained team and a deep understanding of the country,” said the director of Huawei Mexico. Huawei Cloud has introduced more than 100 cloud services to serve more than 1,000 customers here. These include the latest version of Huawei Cloud Stack, which offers AI-powered big data and database management solutions tailored to the Mexican market.

Huawei Cloud has increased its growth in Mexico five times since 2022, the executive told the press at the Huawei Cloud Summit forum. The company stands out with the launch of the first hyper-scale local cloud in Mexico. This infrastructure includes three availability zones and Tier 3+ data centers, offering a latency of 25 ms throughout Mexico and 50 ms to North America and the Caribbean.

In addition to infrastructure, Huawei Cloud focuses on ecosystem and talent development, as by partnering with more than 300 local companies and bringing 20 Chinese ecosystem partners to Mexico, “Huawei Cloud is fostering a global exchange of knowledge.”

“Huawei Cloud aims to train more than 1,000 AI developers and build strong talent for the local ecosystem. Collaborations with more than 30 universities have led to the creation of ten specialized courses, impacting thousands of developers across Mexico,” the company said.
