Mexico’s First Female President elected

On June 2nd, 2024 Mexico had General Elections and according to preliminary results from the National Electoral Institute, Claudia Sheinbaum won more than 55% of the votes (to be formally confirmed by the relevant authorities), becoming the first elected female President in Mexican history to serve during the period 2024-2030. MEXCHAM wishes the best for the new elected President!

Claudia Sheinbaum holds a Ph.D. in Energy Engineering from the National Autonomous University of Mexico. She formerly served as Mexico’s Minister of the Environment and Mayor of Mexico City, among other relevant positions.
