RECAP: Expo Central China 2024

Last May 31st and June 1st, 2024 Central China Investment Promotion Conference At Expo Central China 2024 was held in Changsha, Hunan Province, China.

The conference included a Governor Dialogue, including Governors of Shanxi Province (Jin Xiangjun), Anhui Province (Wang Qingxian), Jiangxi Province (Ye Jianchun), Henan Province (Wang Kai), Hubei Province (Wang Zhonglin), and Hunan Province (Mao Weiming).

According to Hunan Daily, the six provinces account for around 25 percent of China’s population and 22 percent of the country’s GDP. The combined GDP of the six provinces reached 27 trillion yuan ($3.7 trillion) last year, 10.4 times larger than that in 2003.

As part of Central China Expo, 2024 Hunan Trade and Investment Promotion Global Partnership Conference was held, hosted by Ms. Yang Aiyun, Chairwoman of CCPIT Hunan Sub-Council and China Chamber of International Commerce Hunan Chamber of Commerce.

The conference included presentations from different foreign and Chinese chambers of commerce. On behalf of MEXCHAM, VP Victor Cadena presented on Business Opportunities between Hunan and Mexico.

On 1st June, 2024, a Roundtable for Foreign Investment Entities and International Chambers of Commerce was held in Changsha, Hunan. The Roundtable was hosted by Mr. Ling Ji, Vice Minister of Commerce and Deputy China International Trade Representative along with Mr. Liu Mingqiang, Director General of CIPA.

Representatives from 14 foreign entities spoke during the Roundtable. On behalf of MEXCHAM, VP Victor Cadena presented on Trade and Investment Opportunities and Challenges between Mexico and China.

MEXCHAM looks forward to fostering bilateral investment and trade between Central China and Mexico.
